See You at the Parade: A First Look at JTech's 4th of July Float

By Chris Pontin - Last Updated on 07/02/2026
Every Fourth of July, Livingston comes together for one of the community's favorite traditions. Long before the rodeo gates open and the fireworks begin, Main Street fills with families, lawn chairs, and the excitement that only parade day can bring.

For us, the parade has always been more than an event on the calendar. It's one of our favorite opportunities to get creative, have some fun, and celebrate alongside the community that's supported us for nearly three decades.

And if you've seen one of our floats before, you already know we don't believe in simply decorating a trailer and calling it good.

Celebrating Two Big Milestones

The countdown begins to JTech's 30th Anniversary!

This year's parade theme gave us plenty to work with.

As communities across the country celebrate America's 250th birthday, we're also beginning the countdown toward an exciting milestone of our own as we approach JTech's 30th anniversary.

Both celebrations are rooted in something similar: showing up year after year, adapting, growing, and continuing to build something worth being proud of.
That idea became the inspiration for this year's float.

Making the Crowd Part of the Fun

One thing we learned from previous parades is that people enjoy being part of the experience.

Without giving away every surprise, we've built a few moments into this year's presentation that we hope will get plenty of smiles from both the judges and everyone lining the street.

After all, creating memorable experiences is a lot more rewarding than simply driving from one end of the parade route to the other.

It Takes More Than Parade Day

One of the parts people rarely get to see is everything that happens before the first float rolls out.

Ideas start as sketches and conversations. Materials get gathered. Graphics are designed and printed. Props are built, tested, adjusted, and sometimes completely reimagined after someone has a better idea.

Then comes decorating, loading trailers, checking lights, making sure everything survives the drive, and hoping Montana weather decides to cooperate.

It's a lot of work for a parade that lasts only a short time, but that's part of what makes it worthwhile.

We Hope You'll Come Say Hello

If you're planning to spend the Fourth of July in Livingston, keep an eye out for the JTech float.

Give Jay a wave. Catch some candy. Enjoy the surprises we've been working on. Most importantly, take a few minutes to enjoy one of the best community traditions of the summer.

We're looking forward to celebrating America's 250th birthday, kicking off the countdown to our 30th anniversary, and spending another Independence Day with the friends, families, businesses, and neighbors who continue to make Livingston such a special place.
