Society for Range Management Unveils Cutting-Edge Website

By Chris Pontin - Last Updated on 01/08/2026
Our website design team recently collaborated with the Society for Range Management (SRM) to launch a fully redesigned website.

SRM is the leading international professional organization dedicated to advancing sustainable rangeland management. It unites scientists, ranchers, educators, conservationists, policymakers, and land stewards to protect and enhance rangelands—which span more than 40% of the Earth's land surface and deliver critical ecosystem services, including clean water, carbon storage, biodiversity, and forage production. When SRM partnered with us, they needed a modern, user-friendly platform that would serve as the definitive hub for their global community: streamlining member engagement, showcasing events and resources, and providing authoritative, search-optimized content to educate the public and attract new professionals to the field.

Enhancing Member Engagement with Integrated Tools and Intuitive Navigation

A core requirement was to integrate seamless access to member-exclusive tools and resources directly into the site's architecture. The new design prominently features a Member Portal login on the homepage—described as "Your Hub for Leadership & Engagement"—where members can securely access committee documents, meeting materials, collaboration tools, and specialized technical resources such as monitoring protocols, best management practices, and glossaries.

Our team prioritized clear calls-to-action for non-members as well: bold "Join Now" and "Donate to SRM" buttons appear front-and-center, making it effortless for visitors to become part of the community or support its mission. Immediately below, the site highlights upcoming events, driving users toward active participation.

This logical flow—from discovering SRM's mission, to joining or logging in, to exploring events and resources—empowers visitors to move quickly from awareness to involvement, perfectly aligning with SRM's goal of building a connected, action-oriented network of rangeland professionals.

Spotlighting the Annual Meeting with a Flexible, Year-Round System

A key highlight is the Annual Meeting section, built as a dynamic, reusable system that adapts effortlessly each year while preserving historical records. The core page structure reconfigures annually to spotlight the current event, with dedicated year-specifics for detailed, permanent archives—including programs, abstracts, and award details.

Our team implemented features like:
  • A live countdown timer building anticipation
  • Easy registration and hotel booking links
  • Schedule-at-a-glance and technical program previews
  • Sponsor and exhibitor packets with clear opportunities
  • Awards ceremony details, including live streaming options

This flexible architecture ensures SRM can update the main page for future meetings while maintaining accessible archives of past events—creating a comprehensive historical repository that showcases the organization's ongoing impact.

Delivering Authoritative Content Optimized for Search and Impact

To position SRM as the go-to authority on rangeland issues, we enhanced key pages with in-depth, science-backed content optimized for E-E-A-T principles and high-value searches.

The Official Statements, Policies, Position Statements & Resolutions page is a powerhouse resource, compiling SRM's evidence-based positions on critical topics such as:

  • Climate change adaptation and mitigation
  • Sustainable livestock grazing and ecosystem health
  • Invasive species management
  • Fire prescriptions and integrated pest management
  • Biodiversity conservation and ecosystem services
  • Wild horse and burro management
  • Rangelands as a vital global resource

Each entry includes clear definitions, scientific foundations, and actionable recommendations—serving policymakers, managers, and researchers while targeting profession-specific queries. We wove targeted keywords throughout headings and content—covering rangeland stewardship, conservation, professional development, and more. The result: a dynamic site that educates, engages, and expands SRM's reach and influence worldwide.

Complementing this, the Committees page organizes SRM's volunteer structure into focused categories, including:

  • Science & Ecology (e.g., Rangeland Invasive Species, Watershed/Riparian, Targeted Grazing, Rangeland Assessment and Monitoring)
  • Professional Education (e.g., Young Professionals Conclave, Certified Professionals in Rangeland Management)
  • Administrative and Member Services

With direct calls to get involved, it helps members channel their expertise effectively.
